Gov. Scott Walker on Friday set Nov. 8 as the date for a special election to fill the 95th Assembly district seat vacated by Sen. Jennifer Shilling.

That means candidates have until Sept. 13 to file nomination papers with state election officials. A primary election, if necessary, will be held Oct. 11.
